Let’s continue The mountain way of life, and this time another adventure had been waiting for me, and I was extremely excited to accept it. My confidence had been boosted after the experience of river rafting. We were all pumped up and planning for mountain trekking, but some of us wanted to go back home and were in a hurry to get to work because the holidays were going to end.

At The Top Of The Mountain

Considering the whole situation, we were discussing whether to go back home. I was the one who suffered a lot during the trip due to altitude sickness, so everyone was concerned about me, but then again, I said in the middle of the discussion, “We will go for the trek.” I don’t know when I will come back to the mountains again, so let’s do it now. “ And here we go on the adventure of trekking.

I made a friend in the mountains

We rented a hotel in Kullu on the spur of the moment, and the next morning we were set to embark on the Bijli Mahadev trek. Bijli Mahadev is one of the holy temples of Himachal Pradesh, Kullu, Kashawri, located at a height of 2452 m. This Kullu Valley is also known as the Valley of Gods. Bijli Mahadev is the temple of Lord Shiva. It’s also renowned as one of India’s ancient temples.

The temple’s ancient beliefs

Bijli Mahadev
The Ancient Temple

This temple’s narrative is well-known throughout India. It is believed that every 12 years, lightning strikes this temple and the Shivling gets broken. And this mountain has the form of a snake. It is said that in ancient times, a giant snake caused a lot of terror in Kullu.

Where lightning strikes

To save the people, Lord Indra attacked the snake with his Vajra and turned it into stone, and later a Shivling was established there, which is still worshipped by the people. Shivling was established to protect the people of that village. That’s why, once every 12 years, lightning strikes this mountain and Shivling gets broken. The priest puts the Shivling back together with salted butter and Sattu (an Indian ingredient).

Shape of the Mountain

The adventure begins

Bijli Mahadev Trek

We started our trek to the mountain. It was a 3-kilometer-long trek, and it was full of beautiful views. The road was a bit slippery and rough. And while climbing the mountain, I noticed a 50-year-old man walking down a mountain with a heavy wooden bucket full of wood on his back. It’s possible that this is his daily routine. It’s incredibly difficult job, but it’s also very lovely in the mountains.

50 year of man walking down

While climbing, we took a break at the stop and ate Maggie and drank tea because we had skipped breakfast due to a hurry in the early morning. When you set a goal in your life, it doesn’t matter how big or small it is, and you honestly and determinedly chase it, that would be true. I say this because it was the first time, I felt such emotions. At the time, the sentiments of joy and peace inside me had various vibrations. I didn’t want to return since I was so enamored with that beauty.

I took a picture of mine

I have shot a full vlog of this adventure with the help of my fellows. In some places, the situation got extreme due to the snow on the way, so we could not shoot that due to the risk of slipping.

Nature and The Beauty

In the mountains, I wish to be buried

After a 3-km long trek, I was finally at the top of the mountain, and I could see the entry gate of the temple. The whole mountain was covered by white snow and looked like heaven at the top. You could also check out my full Bijli Mahadev trekking Vlog on YouTube.

I Wish…
Himalayas

When the Neotethys Ocean plate subducted beneath Eurasia’s southern edge and the Indian tectonic plates collided 55 million years ago, the Himalayas were formed. Take a look at the work of art that has been created.

How it looks at the top
The Himalayas are breathtaking.

I clicked photos and felt the natural beauty of the mountains. I truly wanted to burry myself in the mountains of Himalayas.
